1. Scope
1.1
This Standard specifies the minimum requirements for a medical oxygen concentrator central supply system for use as a source of supply in a nonflammable medical gas piping system which complies with CSA Standard Z305.1.
1.2
Small, portable, ""domiciliary"" units are not included within the scope of this Standard.
1.3
This Standard also specifies minimum performance and safety requirements for the primary, secondary, and reserve supplies; control equipment and alarms; and pressure regulating apparatus; along with ancillary equipment necessary to complete a medical gas central supply system.
1.4
In this Standard, ""shall"" indicates a mandatory requirement, and ""should"" indicates a recommendation, or that which is advised but not mandatory. Notes accompanying clauses do not include mandatory or alternative requirements. The purpose of a note accompanying a clause is to separate from the text explanatory or informative material that is not properly a part o f the Standard. Notes to figures and tables are considered to be part of the figure or table and are written as mandatory requirements.
